Dear Sir,

We are local members of a movement known to the public as 'Anonymous', and after some deliberation we felt it necessary to correspond with you to bring some critical issues to your attention. You may or may not have heard of us, but we are a movement with the goal of exposing the criminal practices of the Church of Scientology to public scrutiny.

Before you throw this letter in the recycling bin, we hope that you will hear us out on a few matters involving who 'we' and 'they' are as movements. There are two frequent questions we receive from the public that we would like to address outright.

'Are we a hate group?'
No. Our movement respects the freedom of religion rights of all human beings, as set out under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We believe that rather than a religion the Church of Scientology is a dangerous cult that engages in criminal enterprise by preying on the weak, and our stated goal is to end this socially destructive behavior. Not to attack the beliefs or faith of any person.

'Why do we hide our identities?'
We do so as an act of solidarity with people who have attempted to criticize or investigate the Church of Scientology in the past, people who have been smeared, harassed, stalked and worse. It is official church policy to never defend itself, only to attack the critic's credibility. We therefore remain 'anonymous' so that only our message can be attacked.

Anonymous held an international day of action on February 10th, 2008 at Scientology Centers in 107 cities world wide(Including Kitchener). During all of these protests there were only two recorded arrests, both of whom were followers of Scientology, not Anonymous.

We are a peace movement dedicated to exposing truth and preserving free speech.

While we cannot communicate all the heinous crimes committed by this cult's leaders in one letter, we hope to point you in the right direction.

February 10th was chosen as a date for a significant reason: it was the birthday of Lisa McPherson. Lisa died in the care of the church after having a psychotic break. While what she needed was the care and help of physicians and her family, her 'church' denied her this. She was locked in a cabin until she died. Information on her life and death, including her horrific and telling autopsy photos can be found all over the Internet.

The Church of Scientology operates 'not for profit' organizations and shell corporations that are inconsistent with the behavior of a genuine religion.

It has its own navy : SeaOrg.
It has its own police force and intelligence service: The OSA
It has its own penal system.

Yes, Scientologists operate their own prisons. Members voluntarily go to these prisons after being told their religion requires them to for any number of minor or major sins.

We are not conspiracy theorists. The existence of these groups are established fact that can be easily researched in the public domain. The wife of founder L. Ron Hubbard was convicted in 1979 of conspiracy against the United States Government in regards to a Church of Scientology operation known as 'Operation Snow White'. This was nothing less than an attempt to infiltrate the American government. In fact, it was the largest recorded infiltration of the American Government in history.

As perhaps you are beginning to understand, this is but the beginning. We maintain that the true scope of the activities of the Church of Scientology are criminal and sickening.

But this is not an issue for only Americans. The Church of Scientology operates here, in Kitchener. They have a center in King Street west, they also operate an entity called 'Narconon' in Kitchener at an undisclosed location. As well as a front called Applied Scholastics that is basically used to grant the church access to government educational funding.

Narconon is the Scientologist answer to Narcotics Anonymous, only instead this is used as another recruitment tool. This is only one small aspect of their attempts to prey on the weak.

If you would like to know more about us, or the Church of Scientology we urge you to visit the websites at the bottom of this letter or to contact us directly at this address.

We would like to thank you sincerely for your attention, and hope you will consider visiting us in person on our next international day of action, Saturday March 15th 2008. We will again be protesting across the street from the Church of Scientology on King street west
Kind Regards,

Anonymous of Kitchener
